Marjan Shaki & Lukas Perman: "We are shocked that in the 21st century such wars are mercilessly started and countries are attacked in the most brutal way. No one wins through hatred and greed. Solidarity, the courage of Ukrainians, love and faith in the good, are stronger weapons than inhumanity and cruelty. The suffering, which is man-made, just makes you angry and at the same time infinitely sad. It remains for all of us only to do what must be done: Stand up against it together and help - with all our possibilities."
VBW Managing Director Prof. Dr. Franz Patay & VBW Musical Director Christian Struppeck: "The current situation in Ukraine shakes the whole world. On the initiative of Marjan Shaki & Lukas Perman, to whom we owe our great thanks, we are jointly staging an atmospheric, intimate concert at the Raimund Theater to raise funds for the people on the ground. Many well-known artists from the world of musicals will be performing for us on this evening for no fee, in order to set a sign of solidarity just as we do. Together and with a lot of music we would like to express our sympathy for the current terrible events with this concert. The proceeds will be used to help those who have fallen on hard times as a result of this conflict."
The charity concert is supported by the official ticket store of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (WTS Wien Ticket Service GmbH).

About VBW helps people in emergency situations
For more than two weeks, the ensembles of CATS and MISS SAIGON have also been collecting money every evening after the performances at Raimund Theater and Ronacher to support people in need due to the current situation in Ukraine. In the meantime, a considerable sum has already been collected through the association "VBW hilft Menschen in Notsituationen" (VBW helps people in emergency situations), which will benefit "Nachbar in Not" (Neighbor in Need) and "Caritas" (Caritas) for local aid.
