The Ronacher opens its doors on 21 September 2024! Just in time for the start of the season, Vereinigte Bühnen Wien is once again organising the big musical festival WE ARE MUSICAL around the musical theatre in the 1st district.

 

Open-air stage, show highlights, face painting for children and much more

On the open-air stage, audience favourites Carin Filipčić, Marjan Shaki, James Park and Drew Sarich will perform the best VBW musical songs. The programme also includes a musical dance & musical sing-along. Robert Steiner and the popular rat ‘Rolf Rüdiger’ will once again be the presenters. 

You can also look forward to show highlights from the current VBW success production ROCK ME AMADEUS - THE FALCO MUSICAL as well as dance workshops, workshop talks, face painting for children and further exciting programme from the world of theatre.

At the souvenir flea market, all musical lovers can get merchandise from past productions. A food truck in front of the Ronacher will spoil visitors with various delicious dishes.

 

This year, the musical festival will take place as part of Wien Holding's Open Day. Details can be found here

Visitors can look over the shoulders of the VBW staff as they go about their daily work. From knotting wigs and making props to exciting stories from theatre life.

Information

Tickets for our workshops and show highlights are already fully booked. However, as it often happens that tickets are not used and returned, there is also the possibility of obtaining a few remaining tickets on site at the information desk on 21 September. We ask for your understanding that these tickets will be allocated in the order in which they are received ("First come, first served").

 

It's definitely worth coming along: musical stars will perform great musical hits on the open-air stage and you can test your own talents at the Musical Dance & Musical Sing-Along. Once again, Robert Steiner and the popular rat "Rolf Rüdiger" will be the presenters. For all younger visitors there is also the musical corner of VBW Junges Musical. Here the children are invited to do puzzles and handicrafts.

The latest VBW in-house production tells the exciting and moving story of the young Viennese musician Hans Hölzel and his rise to world stardom in a spectacular and at the same time touching new musical created especially for Vienna by top international creatives. Embark on a unique journey through emotions, successes, escapades and the ever-recurring brokenness of the "Falcon", which promises deep insights into his innermost being.

A spectacular new production by legendary producer Cameron Mackintosh (MARY POPPINS, MISS SAIGON),  Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is brought to the Raimund Theater by Artistic Director Christian Struppeck, for the first time in German-speaking countries.
