On Monday, REBECCA, the successful musical by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, celebrated its acclaimed UK premiere at the Charing Cross Theatre in London. This is the thirteenth stop of the VBW's own production and therefore another important milestone in the history of the play based on the world-famous novel by Daphne du Maurier.
Directed by Alejandro Bonatto and translated by Christopher Hampton (two-time Tony Award winner for ‘Best Film Score’ and ‘Best Screenplay’ for SUNSET BOULEVARD and Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay for ‘Dangerous Liaisons’) and Michael Kunze, accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra, the legendary musical thriller by the successful authors Michael Kunze & Sylvester Levay (including ELISABETH, SUNSET BOULEVARD and SUNSET BOULEVARD) has been brought to life. ELISABETH, MOZART!) can now also be experienced in the UK. REBECCA has been seen by over two million people worldwide in 13 countries and eleven languages.
The English series runs until the end of November, but those who don't want to travel that far can visit the Viennese production at the Raimund Theatre, where it will be shown until 7 January 2024 due to high demand.
