Cancellation of I AM FROM AUSTRIA 2025 in Schönbrunn

Due to the current legal and licensing situation for open-air events in the Ehrenhof of Schönbrunn Palace and the penalties already imposed for noise violations for all past open-air shows, the organiser SHOWFACTORY has cancelled all shows planned there for 2025 without replacement. This also includes the big concert of the successful VBW musical I AM FROM AUSTRIA, which was scheduled to take place on 3 and 4 July 2025. Other events in the ‘Schönbrunn Classics’ series, which has been taking place for several years, cannot be realised this year either due to the existing noise restrictions.
Tickets can be returned immediately at the respective advance ticket sales office.

Showfactory managing director Dieter Semmelmann comments: ‘We are very disappointed and very regretful about this development, because we were firmly convinced that we had built up an outstanding series of events with these concerts and shows, where we were able to welcome over 150,000 visitors from all over the world in the last 4 years.

However, the current noise restrictions do not allow us to offer future events in the quality required for a great open-air experience for the audience and the artists in a responsible way. Due to the current legal limits for events in Schönbrunn, it is not possible to provide adequate sound for visitors at other outdoor locations in Vienna either. For these reasons, we have to cancel all concerts in the palace courtyard this year. This is an intolerable situation. We hope that we will be able to engage in a dialogue with all other concert organisers and the City of Vienna in order to find a good solution for the future. We are interested in finding an amicable solution with all parties involved so that concerts can be held at Schönbrunn again from 2026 onwards.’
